My very first successful still life. Yay. They were always my downfall in painting and drawing. this is my first time using colored pencil for anything above a grade school level. The whole idea was to draw a still life in color using objects that either reflect or are transparent.

This is a still life of some stuff that isn't really alive so why's it called still life? Life isn't still, and it's not still alive in this case. I'm just going to call in "still inanimate and unmoving stuff that isn't alive". I hope it catches on.

The best part about finally being finished with this is that after preserving their image forever on paper with the help of a waxy substance used for colored pencils, I got to eat the peppermints.

Ooh, here's a way of messing with people's heads. What if these objects together have a deeper meaning? Or not. I'll never tell though. Never! I've already said too much.
